Local nature reserves
The churchyard itself can act as a sort of nature reserve, but there may be other areas around a parish that are already nature reserves, formally or informally, or might become so.
- Church members might combine with other people to encourage the survey, designation and management of such sites. Local people can actively help with all three stages of this process.
- A good starting point would be to contact the Biological Records Centre http://www.wildlifebcnp.org/activities-biological.htm
