Need some help in starting a church youth group?

Should your church need help in forming a new youth group, the youth officer will be happy to work with your church on drawing up an appropriate action plan and spotting potential leaders. David will, if you wish, lead the group for ten sessions to get the club off to a good start and provide any on-site training required. After these initial starter meetings, David will continue to offer suitable training and resources for the group when your new leaders take over.

What are the things we, as a church, should bear in mind or need before beginning the new group?

Clergy and potential youth group leaders can download a Word document (below) that contains the possible needs and requirements of new youth groups. There is also a draft membership/parental permission template available on this page for you to make your own church form. It would be helpful if these documents could be considered by the church before before the meeting attended by the Youth Officer.

How much will it cost?

The local church would meet the overall running costs of their own project. There will be no expenses incurred for the DYO's visits because a small fraction of the parish share helps to pay for this.
