Hard copies will be sent to parishes and we ask that you display these on notice boards where possible, so people can see the opportunities available to them.

The Revd Canon Linda Church

Director of Ministry

Tuesday 16 June - "A Season of Invitation"

As a joint initiative between the Departments of Ministry and Mission, Michael Harvey (national co-founder of "Back to Church Sunday") will be visiting the Diocese of Ely on 16 June, speaking in three venues. Michael is an engaging and persuasive speaker and he will be presenting information on this new mission and outreach opportunity, using seasonal invitations to invite people back to church. There will be an opportunity to view some of the support resources and to talk to Michael.

The training sessions are open to anyone, ordained or lay. The basic content will be the same at each event, so no need to come more than once!  Tickets to attend (which are free) may be obtained online at Eventbrite as follows:

For Chatteris (10.00 am to 12 noon at St Peter & St Paul's Church):

For Ely (2.00-4.00 pm at Ely Cathedral Education & Conference Centre):

For Histon (7.15-9.15 pm at St Andrew's Centre, Histon):

Donations on the day are invited to cover costs, with a recommendation of £4.00 per head.

Parishes represented at any of the above events will have a chance to go into a ballot to gain further, parish-specific, training from Michael Harvey at a future, mutually convenient date and venue.

Vocation and Ministry

Are you being called to ministry? When Christians talk about a 'call' we mean that God is calling us in our mind and heart - to take an action or make a choice. 'Vocation' is the word often used to describe a call that leads us into a particular way of life.
