Sharing faith through words and action

Who we are

Church Army is a society of evangelists with the Anglican Communion.  We work to enable people to come to a living faith in Jesus Christ by sharing faith through words and action.

Captain David Waters, the Diocesan Youth Officer, represents the Church Army in this diocese.

Church Army has been at the heart of evangelism within the established church since 1882. It was then that Revd Wilson Carlile, a young curate at St Mary Abbots Kensington, founded Church Army to take the good news of Jesus Christ to those people who would not normally have had contact with the Church. Wilson Carlile was also keen to encourage other Christians to do the same.

Today Church Army works at the cutting edge of mission and evangelism and is closely involved with the fresh expression and mission-shaped church initiatives. Church Army's recent campaigns include What will they believe?
and Get OUT More which have received support from church leaders.

The latest news and more information can be found on the Church Army website or by calling 020 8309 3519

Church Army also funds the Word-on-the-web and Encounters On the Edge websites.
