Valentine Vellore Dinner - £2000 raised!
The candlelit Valentine Vellore Dinner in Great Wilbrahan Farm Barn got off to a great start when one of the guests popped the question to his unsuspecting partner, who thankfully lost no time in saying‘yes’. Chris and Rachel are new members to St Vigor’s Church, having moved to Fulbourn just a month ago. The other 100 guests toasted them and gave them a big cheer.
The event was organised in conjunction with the Diocesan Vellore Group to celebrate Ely 900 and to raise funds to build a primary school in the Diocese of Vellore, our link Diocese, in India.
After the excitement of Chris and Rachel's engagement, the evening continued and with the help of an Auction of Gifts and Promises £2000 was raised- almost half of what is needed to build a primary school in the village of Serkadu 20km north east of Vellore.
