Back to Church Sunday

Our Diocese saw a dramatic increase in participating parishes for the Back To Church Sunday 2009 initiative. 121 parishes were involved this year, representing an increase of over 100 parishes from 2008 (our pilot year).

The national picture was a staggering 4700 participating churches with an estimated 81,956 returning Back To Church. Read more on the Church of England website.

On average 14 people came Back To Church at each church that took part in the Back To Church Sunday 2009 initiative in the Diocese of Ely.

Next year Back to Church Sunday will take place on 26th September 2010.
