Church Youth Competition
6th October 2008
To celebrate the 900th anniversary of the Diocese of Ely, all young people aged 11-19 in our churches are invited to take part in an exciting new photograph competition that will run between now and the end of April 2009.
Young people are invited to submit photographs in the following categories:
1. The photo that best sums up what we like about our parish or local community
2. The photo that best sums up what challenges us in our parish or local community
3. The photo that best sums up our church's contribution to the parish or local community
4. The photo that best sums up our church youth group membership
For best photo in the entire competition: £100
1st Prize (in each category) £50
2 Runner-up Prizes (in each category): £25
Rules of the Competition
Entries must be arrive by midnight 30th April 2009. All entries after this date and time will be rejected.
The competition is open to all Anglican churches in the Diocese of Ely
All entries can be sent either by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org, or posted to Youth Photo Competition, Resources Centre, Diocesan Office, Barton Road, Ely, Cambs. CB7 4DX.
All photos entered must be taken by a young person aged 11-19.
All photos must include the name of the entrant, age of photographer, church location and a maximum of 150 words to explain the photo in more detail.
Parental permission must be sought by the church if anyone under the age of 16 is in the photo, and permission from adults in the photograph must also be gained before entering the competition.
All entries to this competition will be displayed on the diocesan youth web pages, and in a special 900th Anniversary photograph area at Rave in the Nave 2009 on July 10th. The prizewinners in each category will get one free ticket to Rave in the Nave and will be presented with their prize on the Main Stage just before the big balloon drop!
If you are aged 11 to 19 and want to win these great prizes, all you have to do now is get 'snapping' those photos!
