The Revd Canon Edward de Toesny Wingfield Longford
20th July 2010It is with great sadness that we announce the death of the Revd Canon Edward de Toesny Wingfield Longford on the 17th July 2010. Canon Longford came to the Ely diocese in 1955 and during his time with us served as Minor Canon Precentor and Sacrist, Perpetual Curate at Chettisham, Priest in Charge and later Rector of Everton w Tetworth, Priest in Charge of Hatley, Rector at Gamlingay, Rural Dean of the St Neots Deanery. Canon Longford, who retired in 1990 and held the Bishop’s permission to officiate until March this year, leaves a widow Joan. Mrs Sarah King |
