Bishop’s Visit

The Bishop of Ely, The Rt Revd Stephen Conway, will tomorrow (3 Nov) engage with the Chaplaincy to People at Work team when he visits people in their places of work.

Bishop Conway has spent his first few months as Bishop of Ely trying to meet as many people in the local community as possible as well as his many church communities.

I am looking forward to the programme tomorrow because it gives me a clearer idea of what issues people are facing in their places of work at the present time,” said Bishop Conway today.

His day will begin at the HQ of BBC Cambridgeshire (10am) where he meets Editor, David Harvey, and staff from Radio Cambridgeshire and Look East.

Then it will be on to Cambridge Crown Court (11.30am) where he will have lunch with the Judges and possibly attend a court hearing to see the barristers and support staff in action.

The law theme continues as Bishop Conway meets Chief Superintendent Karen Daber at Cambridgeshire Constabulary HQ (2.30pm).

Whilst hearing at first hand some of the issues relating to policing in Cambridgeshire, the Bishop will visit the control room and also meet volunteer chaplains.
