Bishop hosts party for retired clergy
The Bishop of Ely, Stephen Conway, is to host a reception for all of the retired clergy in the Diocese of Ely on Wednesday 1st June (11am-2.30pm).
There are significant numbers of retired clergy living in many of the parishes of the Diocese of Ely and many of them continue to play an active part in the life of the Church.
“It’s hard to describe just how significant is the contribution of these women and men who have given many years of service already and who continue to assist us in many ways, and not least by their prayers,” said Bishop Stephen today.
Many of those invited will be especially keen to come this year because it will give them an opportunity of meeting the new Bishop of Ely for the first time.
As well as having a party to mark the summer, Bishop Stephen will preach and preside at the Eucharist.
