Bishop continues Deanery visits

The Bishop of Ely, Stephen Conway, is continuing to meet as many new people and see as many parishes as possible as his Visitation continues.

Since his welcome in Ely Cathedral last month, Bishop Conway has made it a priority to meet as many people as possible to understand what the key issues are in the life of his new Diocese between now and the end of the year.

This week, for instance, he is meeting some incumbents in the Shingay deanery.

Bishop Conway said today: “It’s important, as Bishop, to listen to what people are thinking and saying in our many and varied communities. The Diocese of Ely is a place of great contrasts with many issues facing people in their lives according, of course, to where they live. There are huge challenges facing both rural and urban communities

I am looking forward to meeting as many people as I can to listen to their stories and to glean at first hand the challenges we are facing as the Church of England in this part of the country,” he added.
