Children and Youth Leaders Lunch with Bishop David

Bishop David leading the leaders in a reflection on the 'Five Marks of Mission' and the 'Going For Growth' report.

On Saturday June 12th sixty Children and Youth Leaders enjoyed a five hour event, including lunch with Bishop David, at St Mary's Church of England school in Ely. 37 churches and the Cathedral were represented.

The event was organised by David Waters, the Diocesan Youth Adviser who gave free resources to everyone as they arrived.

During the day, Jan Payne, the Bishop’s Adviser for Music, and her music group led the worship.

Bishop David and Julia Chamberlin led the morning seminars.

The Revd Mark Savage then led a 'Question Time' session with panelists Bishop David, Julia Chamberlin and David Waters.

A two-course Lunch was provided from the diocesan Youth budget as a way of saying 'thank you' for all the good work done for young people by laity in our churches.

In the afternoon, Ros Wright and Becky Spooner ran the 'Breathe' Resource in the school's theatre for youth leaders, whilst Julia Chamberlin ran a seminar for children's workers in the main hall.

The event closed with a meditation and prayers led by Julia.
