Living Leadership
The Bishop of Ely, The Right Revd Stephen Conway, is currently preparing for one of the most important gatherings since he became bishop of the Diocese.
Next month all of his clergy will gather at a residential clergy conference at Swanwick, Derbyshire (3-5 October) to tackle the theme ‘Living Leadership’.
“Of course clergy conferences are always important events in the life of any diocese but having met many of the clergy either in small groups or individually, next month’s conference will give me an opportunity to share some of my early observations and thoughts with a more gathered community,” said Bishop Conway today.
Clergy conferences consist of services, talks, presentations and workshops.
The theme, ‘Living Leadership’, reflects new and increasing demands on clergy in many local communities.
One of the key speakers will travel the Atlantic to present his insights; Dr Sam Wells, Dean of Chapel at Duke University in North Carolina, has a considerable reputation in theological ethics.
