New Testament Focus
New Testament scholar Dr Will Lamb will look at key New Testament texts covering the lives of Jesus and St Paul during the Ely Cathedral Lecture Series at the Cathedral Centre on Saturday (16 July 10am-3pm)
Dr Lamb is the Vice-Principal and Tutor in New Testament Studies at Westcott House, Cambridge.
He trained for the ministry at Westcott House in the early 1990s before heading back to Yorkshire to serve in the Dioceses of Wakefield and Sheffield for fifteen years.
While serving as a parish priest, he taught New Testament Studies at the College of the Resurrection, Mirfield. From 2001 – 2010, Will was the Anglican Chaplain to the University of Sheffield (where he also taught part-time in the Department of Biblical Studies). In 2005, he took on an additional role as a Residentiary Canon at Sheffield Cathedral.
Following the Dearing Report on Higher Education (1997), Will belonged to one of the first cohort of University lecturers to receive a qualification in teaching and learning. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and is deeply committed to the development of teaching and learning in theological education.
He has been involved in a number of research projects, including the development of resources to support Interfaith Tandem Learning and a project to improve biblical literacy in the school curriculum
