Audiology Specialist to be ordained
Dr David Baguley, a consultant clinical scientist of audiology for the Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, is to be ordained by the Bishop of Ely, Stephen Conway, at a special service in Ely Cathedral, on Saturday 2 July (15.00).
He will serve his curacy as a self-supporting (non-stipendiary) minister in the Parish of All Saints, Milton.
David became the Head of the Audiology Department at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, in 1989.
In 2006 he received an "International Award in Hearing" from the American Academy of Audiology. He is also an Honorary Chair at Anglia Ruskin University.
Included in the ordination service are readings, hymns and music to reflect the joy and solemnity of the occasion as men and women are ordained to serve in churches across Ely.
They will be joined by family, friends and representatives of the congregations in which they will serve.
“I am looking forward to conducting my first ordination service as Bishop of the Diocese and am remembering all candidates in my prayers as the big day approaches,” said Bishop Conway today.
After a year as a deacon, David will be eligible to be considered for ordination to the Priesthood.
