Primary Education to Ordination Training

Former primary-school teacher Corin Redsell is to be ordained deacon by the Bishop of Ely, Stephen Conway, at a special service in Ely Cathedral on Saturday 2 July (15.00) and will serve his curacy with the Lordsbridge Team Ministry as a stipendiary minister.

The Service will include readings, hymns and music to reflect the joy and solemnity of the occasion as men and women are ordained to serve in churches across the Diocese of Ely.

They will be joined by family, friends and representatives of the congregations in which they will serve.

Corin spent eight years working in primary education before pursuing a career in publishing using his teaching skills to develop materials for use in various educational settings.

He then decided to take up full-time training at Ridley Hall, Cambridge, where he has covered many different areas of study to prepare him to be an Anglican priest.

Corin said today: “I'm looking forward to serving the communities that make up the Lordsbridge team, and finding out the ways in which God is working in the lives of the people in them.

After serving as a deacon for a year, Corin will be eligible to be considered for ordination to the Priesthood.
