Pentecost Confirmation at Cathedral

A Diocesan Confirmation Service celebrating the Feast of Pentecost will take place at Ely Cathedral on Sunday (12 June, 6.30pm).

Pentecost, which marks the moment when the Holy Spirit comes upon the Church, is a time of great celebrations for Christians.

Both the Bishops of Ely, Stephen Conway, and Huntingdon, David Thomson, will be present at the Service to confirm candidates into the Church of England.

33 people will be presented representing various parishes in the Diocese.

The Service will feature some modern music reflecting the variety of musical styles now adopted by churches in worship.

Pentecost marks an important day in the life of the whole Church and it is wonderful indeed that people of all ages are presenting themselves to be confirmed members of the Church of England as we celebrate this great day,” said Bishop Conway today.
