Rave in the Nave 2011- complete with Dr Who’s Tardis
Hundreds to attend from all over the East of England
This year’s flagship Youth Event in the Diocese of Ely, the ‘Rave in the Nave’ involving hundreds of young people between the ages of 12 and 19, will be held in Ely Cathedral on Friday 15th July (from 7.15pm until midnight).
This will be the 19th event of its kind attracting people from all over the East of England.
In addition, news has been released that Dr Who’s Tardis is expected to found near to the site allowing young people to have their photograph taken alongside it.
Captain David Waters CA, Diocesan Youth Officer, said today: “This year we are particularly fortunate to have the real Doctor Who Tardis at the event. It will be locked and only I have the key !”
He added: “All of the Cathedral building is used. The Nave is full of giant fun inflatables all run by Christians, the Octagon area is a large stage in which live Christian bands perform and worship takes place all evening and the Lady Chapel becomes a large seated area for young people and youth leaders to relax in a cafe atmosphere.”
There will also be a giant interactive prayer walk, a barbecue in the outside courtyard and the Christian Motorcyclists display their motorbikes and act as security team.
More details will be released as the event approaches.
