A newly published book

Sermons from St Bene’t’s, 2008-2009, a new book by Benet Press, has been published.

St Bene't’s Church is a parish church at the heart of Cambirdge, and has a long-established reputation for inspired, thought-provoking preaching. The quality of that preaching is underscored by these sermons, charting the church year from Advent 2008 to the end of Trinity 2009.

Many of the sermons in the book were given by the vicar, Angela Tilby, who is well known through Thought for the Day on Radio 4.  But it is a feature
of the church that guest preachers are invited regularly, so the book includes sermons from four lay people, one bishop, one clinical psychologist, two ordination candidates, one archdeacon, one hospital chaplain, three retired clergy, the licensed clergy of the parish. Three sermons are from David Ford, Regius Professor of Divinity at Cambridge.

Stimulating and challenging, yet direct and accessible, these sermons capture a year in the life of a remarkable church.
