Two new Doctorates in the Diocese

The Bishop's Press Officer, the Revd Canon Owen Spencer-Thomas, MBE was recently awarded with an honorary degree, Doctor of Letters by the University of Westminster for services to broadcast journalism.
Owen Spencer-Thomas was the first sabbatical Student Union President at Westminster. He spoke of this time in his acceptance speech, "It was then that I first understood how many of one’s achievements come from the inspiration, collaboration and support of many other people, colleagues and friends."
The Revd Dr Will Adam receiving his Doctorate
The Revd Dr Will Adam, who is Rector of Girton and Diocesan Ecumenical Officer, has also recently been awarded a doctorate by Cardiff University. His thesis, entitled 'Dispensation and Economy in the law governing the Church of England', examined the development of concepts of legal flexibility in the eastern and western branches of the church and showed how these have been applied in the Church of England and in the law of England more generally. His research was funded by a scholarship from Cardiff Law School.
