Richard and his wife June have visited the North Kigezi Diocese in Uganda three times and have witnessed the dire need for better educational facilities. His initial hope was to raise awareness of their needs and invest in the future of the children there by raising maybe £2000 for equipment and to help towards building a dorm but this was increased to £50,000 after very generous donations poured in. The total is now over £30,000 after an anonymous donor gave a very generous £10,000 for equipment for the school and then a church gave an equally incredible £20,000 for the building costs.

The group will be met at Carrow Road on Saturday 6th March by Delia Smith, TV Chef and Director of Norwich City FC. Delia has kindly given tickets for the Norwich versus Yeovil match that day, as well as a meal in the exclusive Gunn Club.
Donations may be made via St Thomas a Becket Church which means that tax payers can Gift Aid their contribution. Cheques should be made payable to ‘St Thomas a Becket PCC’ but the envelope should be clearly marked ‘Walk for Uganda.’. All of the funds raised will go directly to the school project with no administrative overheads.
