Vicar wins the Weakest Link

Cambridge Vicar Peter Hayler won last night’s edition of the BBC1 quiz show the Weakest Link! Peter is Associate Vicar of Great St. Mary's, the University Church.

He said today: “It was my daughter who encouraged me to apply for the show. My real motivation was to show that vicars can have fun as well! After passing the application process I flew up to Glasgow in March for what proved to be a very intensive day of filming.”

He added: “It was tough standing up for such long periods of filming especially in such a tense atmosphere. You get asked some crazy questions and it is really in your face but in the end I prevailed.”
