Working with Children

Diocese puts working with children high on agenda

A number of Children’s Leaders network events will be held this autumn in the Diocese of Ely.

A chance to share ideas and meet one another takes place on Tuesday 13 September (10am-12pm) at the Resources Centre, Barton Road, Ely. The event will be hosted by Julia Chamberlin, the Ely Diocesan Children’s Work Adviser and Steve Whyatt from GenR8 (www.genr8.org).

People attending the event will have the chance to share ideas, experiences and pray together whilst discussing current issues related to working with children.

Meanwhile, on Monday 26 September (7.30pm) and Wednesday 19 October (7.30pm), there are two Bite Size training evenings for children’s workers.

The Monday session at All Saints, Milton focuses on Being Creative in Mission and will be led by Rona Orme - author of Creative Mission followed by a session called Working holistically with children to be led by Steve Whyatt of GenR8.

On Wednesday 19 October the task will be Making the Bible Relevant to 5-11 year old children. This session will be led by writer and story teller Amy Robinson followed by a another session entitled Children disciples today? which will be led by Julia Chamberlin, Children’s Adviser. This event will take place at the Histon Baptist Church.
