Ordination 2010

The Bishop of Huntingdon, Dr David Thomson, ordained seven priests and eight deacons in Ely Cathedral on Saturday 3rd July at 3pm. This year five of the new deacons are women – a figure reflecting the growing number of women clergy within the Church of England nationally.
The Cathedral was packed with friends and relatives of the new clergy together with people who travelled from the parishes where the newly ordained will be ministering.
The preacher at the service was the Dean of Ely, Dr Michael Chandler, who had just spent three days leading a retreat for those to be ordained.
As senior priest in the Diocese, the Dean of Ely, Dr Michael Chandler, greets the seven new priests.
