We are very lucky to have such a magnificent
building for our worship. Of course the down side is that it
is a difficut and expensive building to heat (much of the air
being warmed by our elderly heaing system disappears beyond reach into
the roof space), the hard pews are not as comfortable as they might be,
and it is a challenge to keep in a good state of maintenance. Add to
that the difficult acoustics and the only plumbing being a
single cold tap set against the wall at the back of the nave
(our nearest toilet or sink is a short walk up the road in our Church
Hall) and it is clear that there is much that could be done to provide
a better-suited place for people to meet and worship.
We have plenty of space in the building, and
plenty of ideas that could make better use of it. We'll be
working to put them into practice in the near future.
