St Mary's Parish Church Choir

Purpose: to lead the worship at the main 10:30am service on Sunday mornings and on special occasions.

Welcome: everyone is welcome, young or old (our youngest member is eight and our oldest over eighty!); if you want to sing and will commit to a weekly practice and to Sunday morning services you are assured of a very warm welcome. You don't need to have been to church before, though you might want to come along to see what we do before you join! At present we have nine children and eight adults but there is always room for more.

Junior Choir: you need to be eight years old and able to read fluently; you will take part in the Royal School of Church Music's Voice for Life training course, learning the rudiments of singing and music theory and having fun as well. Once you are fourteen and a half we hope you will join the Adult Choir.

Other activities: we sometimes take part in activities outside St Mary's, eg some of us have sung in the annual choir festival at Ely Cathedral, we have given concerts, and take part in other people's concerts and events from time to time. Some of us sang in Songs of Praise from Godmanchester in 2003. We also hold social events from time to time.

Practices: are held on Friday evenings; in summer they are in church and in winter at 7 Vineyard Way.

Junior Choir Practice: Friday 7.00pm - 8.15pm

Adult Choir Practice: Friday 7.30pm - 8.30pm
