100% donated to Living StonesDouglas Noble sold his first painting, a portrait, fifty years ago. This was traced to Sacramento, USA for a retrospective exhibition of his work in 1997, which was held first in Cambridge and then for the final day, here at St Mary's Church where he is a member and known more familiarly as Richard. For a few of his pre-1997 works, Richard is donating 100% of the sale price to Buckden's Living Stones. These are marked with a hash sign - #. In addition, on most of the other works 50% will go to the appeal (marked with an asterisk) rather than the normal 25% commission. Douglas Noble is now concentrating on portrait painting and some of the portraits exhibited have been loaned by their owners for the occasion.
New portrait commissions are invited as part of the exhibition. On every commission accepted, 50% of the price will be given to Buckden's Living Stones.
As an extension to this exhibition, there are more of Noble's works exhibited for sale in the Reading Room at the George Hotel in the High Street and you are warmly invited to view them.
