The total weight of the bells is 6 tons 9 cwt 3 qr 20 lbs (6609 Kg).  This does not include the headstocks, stays, wheels and clappers all of which swing with the bell when it is rung. Bells 3, 4, 5 and 8 are used by the clock to strike the Cambridge Chimes, and the 12th to strike the hour.
