Aims of the Chaplaincy
- To reflect on the commitment to fostering religion in the University Statutes
- To help staff think through the relationship between life, faith and work
- To provide pastoral support and listening in a non-threatening environment, especially to those who are not members of colleges
Activities
- Participation in lecture and study programmes
- Co-operation with other chaplains, including those of other faiths
- Staff prayer groups, and a multi-faith centre at the West Cambridge site
- Annual services - Carols, Cambridge Science Festival, Beginning of the Academic Year - and occasional services including memorial services
- Visits to departments - by arrangement or for seminars, open days, etc.
- Regular contact by mail with all department administrators, with posters of events
- University-wide publicity working with the Press and Publications Department
