Music at Great St Mary's

Great St Mary's has a thriving music community, including several choirs, the organists and the bell-ringers. The Director of Music is Robert Duerr.

Choirs

We have adults', boys' and girls' choirs (sometimes dividing into junior, middle and senior sections). The choirs sing at the Parish Eucharist and Choral Mattins, and sometimes for Evensong, on Sundays, and on some other holy days; rehearsals are on weekdays evenings, once a week for each choir and once for the full choir.

Organs

Great St Mary's has two organs, the Parish Organ to the south of the chancel, and the University Organ over the west entrance (i.e. at the back of the church).

The February 1998 edition of our parish magazine, Majestas, focuses on music.
