St Johns is a parish-focussed church, with a strong local membership and a style of worship that is open to people from a wide variety of traditions.
St Johns is just over 100 years old, and is a daughter church of St Andrews parish church of Cherry Hinton. The church building, although it doesn't look like it, was actually built in two stages separated by several years, with the East half being completed first (the foundation stone of this stage is dated 4th May 1896), and the West half having to wait until 1928. A parish room was build on the South side in 1982, and extended to form a set of meetings rooms in 1995.
The Parish of St Johns is situated in a residential area on the South side of Cambridge. The parish boundaries encompass the famous Addenbrooke's Hospital, the new Cambridge Leisure Centre, Homerton College (which is almost opposite the church), the Faculty of Education of the University of Cambridge, Hills Road and Long Road Sixth Form Colleges, the Morley Memorial Primary School, the Perse School for Boys, and two nursery schools. The parish has approximately 4000 "permanent" residents, plus the residents of the Addenbrookes campus and Homerton College.
Our vicar is the Rev. Sue Wyatt, who is assisted by our curate Rev. Lesley Gore and honorary priest Rev. Peter Heslam.
The church is open each day from 9 am to 5 pm for visitors and private prayer. The church also has a range of modern meeting rooms that are available for hire.

Location
Our church is on the Southern corner of Hills Road and Blinco Grove, as indicated by the pin point in this map:

Google provides some nice maps and satellite photographs to help understand the location of the church:
- Click on this link to see the local area as a satellite view; St Johns is marked by the pin point. You can rescale the map using the slider bar, and use your mouse to pan around the area. If you scale up to the highest resolution, you can even see people walking into the church grounds.
- For people travelling to the church, this link provides a scalable map showing the location of the church. By adjusting the scale you can switch between seeing the local roads and the large-scale access routes into the area.
- Click on this link to see the map of the local area with various features pin-pointed (hospital, schools, and the vicarage for the curious!). You can switch between map, satellite and hybrid views. If you expand the view and pan around, you can follow the boundaries of the parish (marked in red) as broadly being the railway line to the west, a small distance beyond Cherry Hinton Road to the north, the middle of Mowbray Road to the east, and the edge of the hospital to the south. We border the parishes of St James to the East, Sts Mary & Michael Trumpington to the West, and St Martins to the North.

Contact
The best point of contact is the Parish Office, open most mornings from 8.45 am to 11.45 am. The office telephone number is 01223 241316.
The office should be the first point of contact for details of church activities and for enquiries about hiring the community rooms.
