The Curate at St Margaret’s

Michael Banyard moved to Chippenham with his wife Helen in July 2003.

Michael taught in Ely for fifteen years, before moving to Cyprus in January 1985 to work as Deputy Head at a Services' Secondary School there. Six years later the family moved to Hong Kong, leaving in 1996 to move to Germany and early retirement in 1997. Michael and Helen, who is a primary school teacher, then returned to Hong Kong where Michael served as Lay Pastoral Assistant in the Anglican Cathedral, coming back to UK in 2001 to  commence studies for the ordained ministry at Westcott.

Michael and Helen have two children. Christian currently works for a British company in Shanghai, and Caroline works for the MOD. They are also at home from time to time. Michael was ordained on June 28^th 2003 at Ely Cathedral and now very much involved in the Ministry Team in the Three Rivers Group (of which St Margaret’s is a part).
