The Speakers:

Mary Pytches is married to Bishop David Pytches. Along with their children Mary and David spent 17 years in South America as missionaries. On returning to England in 1976 they went to the parish of St. Andrew's, Chorleywood, staying until their retirement in 1996. Mary's major interest has been to develop a pastoral prayer ministry in the local church. She has written several books on subjects relating to personal growth. During their retirement Mary and David are kept busy with their growing family, while making time for writing and speaking.

Theresa Cumbers grew up in a large East End family. In 1983 she experienced great pain when her husband John was killed in a road accident, leaving her to raise their two young children alone. Theresa lives in Suffolk and has worked as a businesswoman and magistrate in Norwich. She became increasingly concerned about the number of women coming before her for prostitution offences and so became an active trustee of the Magdalene Group, researching the needs of those working in the 'Red Light' district and pioneering outreach and support work amongst them. Later she worked full-time for the project. Theresa retired in 2006 but continues as a trustee for NCAP (National Christian Alliance on Prostitution) and Street Pastors.
