Welcome to St Mary's, the lively parish church that lies at the heart of the village of Buckden, Cambridgeshire. We hope that you will enjoy your online visit here, and look forward to welcoming you in person if you are able to join us for a service or just to drop in. With the range of services and variety of activities on offer at St Mary's, we hope that this is a place where everyone can feel at home and enjoy fellowship with God and with each other.

Men's Breakfast

this group meets at 8.30am at the Lion Hotel in Buckden on the first Saturday of every month - so far without missing a single month! Newcomers are made welcome by the core membership of men from St Mary's Church. Topics for lively discussion are based on questions of life and faith.

Saturday 4 July at 10am
St Mary’s Churchyard Tidy

The people who turn out to tidy the churchyard are mostly those who have been doing it for the last 25 years minus their children who have long left home. How about some of you young families giving it a try - it can be made a fun thing to do. In a few years time without your involvement there will be no one left to keep our churchyard looking neat and tidy. Just turn up with a few garden implements - no further training needed. Drinks provided.

For any further information please do contact

There will be an ‘Open Day for Prayer’ at 25 Perry Road on July 7 from 10am to 4pm

Prayer Despite talking to his heavenly father constantly Jesus still withdrew to a quiet place to pray. (Luke 5:16 / Mark 1:35)

This is not a themed quiet day, but an opportunity for you to come, to draw away from the distractions of the world, and be in prayer.

There will material and guidance for those who would like to extend and explore their prayer life and a place just ‘to be’ for those whose needs are a safe quiet place to go deeper in prayer.

Come for an hour, or two, morning or afternoon or all day, the choice is yours – please take this opportunity if you can.

We come together in church to worship God, to hear His word and to share the Good news of Jesus, receiving forgiveness and renewal through His death and resurrection.

We are sent out from church to live as Christian disciples, showing love to others and living out our faith in all we think, say and do.
